Title: Arena Swerve – Dodgeball + Scooter Boards
Prepared by: Charity Helpers Foundation
Date: 2025-06-14
Version: 1.0

---

**CONCEPT SUMMARY**
Arena Swerve brings chaos, laughter, and strategy to the dodgeball court by putting all players on low-scooter boards. Sliding, swerving, and ducking become the norm as teams try to eliminate each other while maneuvering without their feet.

---

**REQUIRED EQUIPMENT**

- Flat, smooth playing surface (indoor gym recommended)
- 6–10 low-riding scooter boards (with handles preferred)
- 6 soft foam dodgeballs
- Cones to mark team zones and boundaries
- Stopwatch or match timer
- Optional: knee pads and helmets (especially for younger players)

---

**FIELD LAYOUT**

- Standard dodgeball court with a center line
- Each team begins on opposite sides behind their starting cone
- “Safe zones” at each corner of the court for 5-second resets

---

**PLAYER ROLES**

- 3–5 players per team
- All players must remain seated or crouched on scooter boards
- Players can use hands and arms to propel, catch, or throw
- Substitutes wait at the sidelines and rotate in between rounds

---

**GAME OBJECTIVE**

Eliminate all opposing team members by hitting them with a dodgeball while they are riding their scooter boards. Last team with players still in play wins the round.

---

**BASIC RULES**

1. Players may only move while fully seated or crouched on their scooters.
2. If a player touches the ground with a foot while holding a ball, the ball is forfeited.
3. A hit to the body or head results in elimination.
4. Catching a live ball eliminates the thrower and revives one teammate.
5. Players may take a 5-second breather in the “safe zones” but cannot throw or be hit while inside them.
6. Games are played in best-of-three format.
7. Scooters may not be used as shields.

---

**VARIATIONS / SCALING IDEAS**

- **Younger Age Groups**: Widen the court and reduce the number of balls in play.
- **Timed Frenzy**: Add a countdown timer and score by total eliminations.
- **Power-Up Ball**: Use a brightly colored “power dodgeball” worth double points.
- **Blindfold Partner Mode**: One player is blindfolded and steered verbally by a teammate.

---

**STAT TRACKING SUGGESTIONS**

- Number of eliminations per player
- Successful catches
- Time survived per round
- Team win rate over multiple games
- Penalties for off-scooter violations

---

**NOTES**
Arena Swerve is high energy, surprisingly strategic, and easy to set up with minimal gear. It’s a crowd-pleaser at malls, schools, and pop-up charity events.
